MMS Version 8 now released
Credit Card Encryption, Multi Currency Tendering, New Form Layouts, New Processes and over 160 other changes, features and fixes.
MMS version 8 is now in the market and brings with it a multitude of new features, processes and tools designed to make managing your marina even more successful. As we all know security and privacy of personnel details  is an important part of daily life now and we are often hearing of identity fraud and credit card abuse. In light of this we have introduced into version 8 of MMS full Credit Card Encryption.
Although this is not a legal requirement currently it is very important in the relationship you have with your card supply companies. Many companies insist that card holder details be encrypted and if this is not done then a breach of agreement could be in place leading to fines and the removal of processing ability. We recently released a document on this please feel free to request one if you did not receive this in the mail out.
Version 8 also bring multi currency tendering for those marinas that require the ability to deal in multiple currencies. This is often the case in the northern hemisphere marinas.
We have also included in this release over 160 additional changes, items from the wish list and some bug fixes making version 8 the most exciting release of MMS to date. You can be assured however that we are not stopping now. 2008 aims to be an even bigger year for MMS with many new features being added for the version 9 release in October 2008. We will of course be releasing more information as the year progresses but be assured that PacsoftMMS is dedicated to ensuring that it delivers the total marina management solution for its customers today and into the future.
Multi Currency Tendering for MMS

This new feature in MMS and has been introduced in the newly released Version 8. It is a simple calculator type function to ‘convert’ customer tender currency into local billing agent currency. Users have the ability to set the conversion rate for each expected currency conversion prior to the transaction. Once a customer pays in a foreign currency the conversion rate is applied and this information is displayed on the invoice. This change does not calculate FX gain or loss and in no way affects the GL process. Invoice allocation is still processed in the local currency after the currency conversion.
Invoicing in multi currency is available in a special release version of MMS if required . If you are interested in this function for your marina please contact us and we can advise on how this version can be obtained.
